This is where the moderate talent gets a proper workout.
Realism, done slowly and by hand. Every pore, every wrinkle, every blade of dry grass on a hillside. None of it is quick, and he has never found a way to make it pay. He knows. Nobody needs to point it out.
The subject matter is all over the place. Rolling hills, fog sitting low over a creek. A powerlifter halfway through a lift. Old men with interesting faces. A wedding couple, a cargo ship, a submarine, a vase of roses. Then, without any warning, a body on the bitumen that you probably didn’t want to see before lunch.
There’s no house style to speak of. He picks whatever the idea needs and paints it straight.
Credit where it’s due, though. The faces are good. The landscapes are better. A few of these would sit comfortably on a gallery wall beside people who actually sell things.
It hasn’t made a scrap of difference, but there you go.
Newest first.
