ARM THE INSANEHardcore Melbourne punk
This digital abstract painting is a tribute to Bert’s favorite local hardcore punk band – Arm The Insane. An anarchist/shouty ensemble who belted out some of the best live music he’d ever heard, is deserving of an artwork, thirty years after the fact, in his humble opinion.

The story behind Arm The Insane
The wild angry bloke gets up on stage and he shouts. Behind him are a guitarist, a bassist and a banger of the toms.
Together they are a Melbourne hardcore punk band. Arm The Insane.
Over the span of a few years they play many gigs. And a skinny red-headed dude watches. And learns. But most of all he enjoys.
Years later he recreates those wild, anarchic sessions of peace and love. But the visuals are all about hardcore anger. Because nothing has changed. Shit, just got worse.
So there it is a man shouting into a microphone backed up by three mates. Creating actual music. Hardcore punk music.
