The story behind Murdered with an axe – self portrait
For many years Bert has had horrible nightmares. Many featured the most violent and brutal attacks on his person and they were very intense. We won’t go into detail here but they were extremely vivid and upsetting.
This painting was intended to be entered into the 2020 Archibald Prize but due to circumstances Bert could not do so.
