The story behind Lust
Lust is a potent emotion. It makes many of us do stupid things. Lie. Cheat. Steal. KIll.
Lust comes in many forms. At the human level, there is sexual lust – this is mostly down to the functions of the human endocrine system. Sexual lust often causes strife in interpersonal relationships. But it is also one of the most intense, profound, and enjoyable human emotions. Sexual lust makes many of us do stupid things. Lie. Cheat. Steal. KIll.
There is also a lust for materialistic things. This too often causes strife in humans. People genuinely believe that having ownership of some material item will make their lives more rewarding. Material lust makes many of us do stupid things. Lie. Cheat. Steal. KIll.
Lastly, there is lust for personal success. If a human strives to create something, helps another, or grows spiritually, physically, or mentally without any promise of material reward, then this should be called a lust for human growth.
Lust for human growth makes us do things for the benefit of others less fortunate.
Lust for human growth makes us do artful and creative things.
Lust for human growth makes us do wise and truthful things.
