I have started a new painting; this is the drawing. The work is on a 50×70 cm canvas and all up the entire drawing of the grid and the rather sparse few lines is only 6.5 hours. It’s a painting that doesn’t need a lot of drawing as it is quite abstract in many areas and this means I am better served by painting in the many tiny details.
What I have done is place little dots every fifth square and these serve as a way of locating the correct square when it comes to placing the correct abstract marks that are required to make the photorealistic quality work well.
I ended up being disappointed with the final result of this painting – you can see the painting here.
