I have started a new realist painting. It’s a cityscape of Footscray, looking in the direction of the city of Melbourne. The source image is from my phone and was taken on 19/06/2024 – 5:36:21 PM. It shows the downtown area of Footscray from my apartment building which features mostly the rooftops in the near foreground but also the large apartment buildings being erected to meet the growing demand for housing. In the center of the painting is the glowing jewel of Melbourne city.
It’s not only a great composition but shows a view of a poor part of town looking towards the wealthy CBD of Melbourne.
