The story behind Bernardini

This painting is of an American racehorse named Bernardini. The original image came from a magazine on racehorses (Bluebloods – May 2009).

My Bernardini painting was a commissioned painting which, when completed, I was never paid. I was even asked to paint out the name of the horse after the painting was finished, despite being initially instructed to copy the photo exactly. Once it had been repainted (the area of red covering the saddle), the commissioner still wouldn’t pay. I wasn’t happy at all.
