Always pushing the boundaries
In 1975 a new piece of CAD/CAM software emerged – it was known as Unigraphics. It has been helping engineers push the boundaries of what we can achieve in terms of design and manufacturing since. It has now evolved into a complete package of what is often called PLM software (Product lifecycle management).
Siemens PLM is behind a great deal of just about everything that is made from shoes to cars and ships.
As somebody who has worked as a mechanical draftsman I see this as an opportunity to create a painting that is about many things.

What more could I want out of a painting?
- Painting size – To be determined, probably 80x80cm.
- Materials – Birch panel with Chromacolour acrylic paint.
- When – Maybe 2023.
- Expected difficulties – Everything. The waves the CAD cutaway, the smallness of the people on the ship.
