Abstract expression – Luke is gone – The second of a series of four
This is the second work in the series of digital abstract expressionist artworks by Bert Ernie. These paintings are an attempt to express the meaning of life, living and death. They try and show what it is to be human.
Human lives are incredibly complex. We have a range of emotions from extremes of sadness to exhilarating joy. These emotions are intertwined and connected to the rich tapestry of human experiences as we travel through life.
Bert’s brother Luke passed away on April 15th 2016. These four digital abstract works of art are extremely powerful works of art. They are great metaphors for the human existence. Complex, dynamic, convoluted, joyous and sad these are the elements that make up every humans life. Bert believes there is no better way to express these powerful emotions than with abstract expressionism.
Every human dies.
It’s when they decide to take their own life that creates so much more grief for their family and friends.
Bert would do anything to get his brother back.
But he can’t – he has gone.
This painting (and the others in the series) is about life, living and death.
