TWELVE RULES OF SOCIETY

Bert Ernie identifies himself politically as an anarcho-communist. He believes that if we had only these twelve rules we would be a lot better off.

Imagine if we only had twelve rules of society. Humankind would approach life differently.

Rules – A set of explicit or understood regulations or principles governing conduct or procedure within a particular area of activity.

Society – a group of individuals involved in persistent social interaction, or a large social group sharing the same spatial or social territory, typically subject to the same political authority and dominant cultural expectations.

1. Law.

The only rules of law for persons, communities, regions and nations are those described in this document.
Once adopted, every community, region and nation may not change these laws.

2. Community.

Every person is a part of a community.
Every community is a part of a region.
Every region is a part of a nation.

3. Government.

Communities, regions and nations may form government for the sole purpose of administering these laws.
Every person, community, region or nation is entitled to participate in the government with equal representation.
Representatives of persons, communities, regions or nations shall take instruction and be held accountable to their electors.
Governments will provide a police force and judiciary for the sole purpose of enforcing the laws within this document.
Any person, community, region or nation may bring any unlawful matter before the judiciary.
The judiciary must make decisions either for or against individuals who are brought before them in a timely and just manner.
Those decisions may allow for imprisonment of individuals.

4. Individual.

Every person is entitled to leave their family, community, region or nation at any time.
No person, community, region or nation shall claim any type of authority over a person unless that person has broken the laws contained within this document.
Every person has the right to freedom of speech.

5. Non-violence.

Every person has the right to a life free of any form of physical violence.
No person, community, region or nation may wage war for any reason.
If a reasonable expectation of violence is foreseen then government may act to prevent it.
If any person, community, region or nation is subject to unlawful violence then they may defend themselves with the minimum force necessary.

6. Property.

No person, community, region or nation may claim ownership of any land.
Communities, regions or nations may claim usage rights for any land if it is to be used solely for the purposes of the community.
Every person may make claim to ownership to any property that is within the confines of their housing.

7. Industry.

Every person has a right to participate, in any lawful industry.
Industries shall form the basis for providing for local, regional, national and international needs.
Every person, community, region or nation has a right to an equal share of the product of any industry.
Industry must respect the balance of nature.

8. Healthcare.

Every person has the right to the highest standards of healthcare.
Communities, regions and nations shall provide for healthcare.

9. Education.

Every person has a right to the highest standards of education.
Communities, regions and nations shall provide for education.

10. Housing.

Every person has a right to the highest standards of housing.
Communities, regions and nations shall provide for housing.

11. Food and water.

Every person has a right to the highest standards of food and water.
Communities, regions and nations shall provide for food and water.

12. Money.

Money or any other form is strictly prohibited.
