Description

I painted this portrait of Noam Chomsky as a tribute to one of the most exceptional human beings alive. I was honored to be able to present the painting to him when he was visiting Australia.

I first discovered the work of Noam when I was about 16 years old. This happened as a consequence of my being exposed to a whole world of anarchist politics via punk rock music. Since that time, I have grown to consider Noam Chomsky to be one of the greatest thinkers of the modern era, and along with this, he is also an incredible humanitarian.

Chomsky’s passion for the telling of difficult truth in the face of power has often caused problems; he was on Richard Nixon’s ‘enemies list.’ He is someone who opposes war, opposes greed, tyranny, and oppression.
